TheFunded.com allows entrepreneurs to research, rate, and review venture funds from around the world, providing invaluable information and guidance to other entrepreneurs looking to raise critical growth capital. The site lists over 3,700 funds with contact information for over 17,000 investment professionals working at those funds. The are approximately over 11,000 Members, over 95% of whom are CEOs of well-know start-ups. The site is a staunch advocate of anonymity, allowing Members to post their honest feedback without concern for a stigma by venture capitalists. Members can rate funds across five categories on a 1-5 scale and contribute both public feedback and Private, Member-only insight to working with venture funds. In addition, Members can contribute Advice on closing funding and Open Letters to venture capitalists about how to improve the fund raising process. Posts are regularly discussed and debated by Members using Feedback, and over 60% of the site content is available with a Member log-in.
In response to an outcry for venture capitalists to have a voice on the site, TheFunded.com allows venture firms to build their own "Certified Profile." These detailed profiles, completed by over 200 leading venture firms, contain the most extensive set of data available on the funds, including reference investments, closing time estimates, partner specialty, etc. The firms have the opportunity to "pitch" entrepreneurs in their own words, reversing the classic venture paradigm. Venture firms and venture partners are not allowed to have Membership.
