They Just Closed a Round of Funding
Fund: Sevin Rosen Funds

From what we hear on the street in Dallas, Sevin Rosen has closed on a new round of funding in August 2008 (Fund #10). They where spending the summer interviewing companies in preperation for formal review in Q4 2008. We have not heard any more on the street in Dallas about their activity but would not be suprised if Q1 2009 showed some activity.

Sevin Rosen is no longer investing, although the partners may reform and do separate investments.

We had lots of positive discussions but nothing much happened. Not unusual for VCs, of course, but didn't do much to dispell the "SRF has hung up their ten gallon hats" story. And all this after a big 10-partners-in-the-room pitch that seemed like a fairly advanced stage of the discussion.

Enjoyed working with Jackie Kimzey through the funding process. Ultimately we decided to work with a New York firm focused on our investment space. Interestingly, I think the SRF team wanted Jackie to take over the CEO post. That was the primary factor in our decision to pick another lead investor in our company. I think they returned their latest fund if memory serves.
