Busy Work Only No Investment

PUBLIC:

If you're on the East Coast or in the Philadelphia area you will probably be advised to seek out Quaker Bioventures. My current advice would be to stay away as they are not making investment but supporting current portfolio.

If you're in the Mid-Atlantic area...they are worth pitching.

Although we managed to interest them with our tech...they didn't ask good questions and appear to be a trend following group. 'Are they interested" if yes then we're interested' kinda mentality. I am hard pressed to see ANY insights/advice or what they would bring besides the capital.

Their supposed success may have more to do with lack of VC competition in the Mid-Atlantic region than anything else.

I know these guys. THey were not appropriate for me, but they are not bad. Too 'biotech-y'. They need to branch out more into devices, and get a presence outside of the Mid-Atlantic region.

We had two seemingly positive meetings with Quaker, and then complete silence. The people there are experienced and have great track records, but gave us no follow up.
