We met with each of the partners and received approval from each of them. You'll have quite a lot of diligence with these guys. Nevertheless, they'll treat you fairly and are one of the better investors outside of New York.
If you're looking for a lead and not on the east coast, don't bother.

They'll call you to do due dili when they're investing in other companies.
Spent quite a while on the phone with one of their principals who had reached out to us. Asked a lot of detailed questions about markets and business models. He then disappeared and no longer responded to emails.
A few months later they invested in a competitor of ours.

The team at NAV was great to work with. They helped us grow the business from the beginning stages through a sale, 5 years later. They were a stragetic business partner who kept our team focused on the important issues and didn't get overly nervous when we would hit a "bump" in the road. Overall, great partners and I'd do business with them again!

We pitched DFJ NE/NAV back in mid 2007. They liked our initial concept and helped accelerate our growth and development by encouraging us to think about how much faster/better we could be with the resources and cash they could add.
We have been working with them for almost a year now and the experience has been uniformly positive. They have delivered solid advice, and saved us from a few potentially serious missteps. The entire team is expert and committed.
Definitely will be my first stop for my next company and i strongly recommend anyone looking for early stage money on the E coast to check them out first.
