I was introduced to Charlie Federman through an angel investor. Our company is not in Crossbar's sweet spot, which I knew going in. Despite that, he gave me an hour of his time and really dug into my presentation. He was focused the entire time and gave me a few insights that will definitely improve my pitch overall overall. Definitely worth pitching to him.

Give the founders leeway to work at the best of times and the worse of times. Has a no BS approach to doing business.
If you have an idea in their domain of interest and investment level, make Crossbar your first stop. They will negotiate in good faith taking in account the founders and the correct incentive structure required for all involved to increase the chances of the startup to succeed.

I know Charlie Federman (in an investor capacity) for 8 years. He was a managing director at a VC firm invested in my previous company (Whale Communications, acquired by Microsoft). He continued to fund my current startup, BitWine. I also got to know his partner, Warren Haber during the past year.
I believe a VC can only be measured in tough times. And there is always a period of tough times at a startup life cycle. Charlie has proven that he can stay truly supportive also when the going gets tough. And from my experience, that's very hard to come by.
Charlie and Warren are very well connected in the industry and never hesitate to leverage these connections for the benefit of their portfolio.
Charlie has a good macro view of the industry and current trends, and never tries to micro manage the CEO. He has a good investment banking background that is very valuable in M&A scenarios.
Highly Recommended.

I did my latest round for my new company with Crossbar. I know Charlie Federman for some time now and his partner Warren Haber. I've been with many VCs and I never met such a great partner to work with. We had the smoothest negotiations, they didn't play any games, it took us several hours to close the agreement, no tricks and no those "fancy" VC tricks! They will not spend your time on "maybe" and their philosophy very simple - take the $ and make it work. I know their other CEOs and this feeling is across the board.
I know that their attention is limited, but, you should definitely try to work with them.
