PUBLIC:

Council's focus is on healthcare or financial services plays so if you fit that profile, they are good VCs to target. Their GPs are mostly banking / finserv and their hidden value is in some of their LPs who can offer hands on advice (hence the term "council"). Denny is a smart and experienced banker while Gary is a pure finserv VC with lots of VC investment experience but both are open and approachable. Katie has an SEC securities / stock broker background so she's not too tech savvy. Some of the LPs are excellent healthcare experts including ex-HCA members. They'll get right to the point of your pitch so be prepared to say what your value is early on and if they are interested they'll spend the time to go deeper. On the downside, like most VCs in the post-bubble world they tend to go for later stage deals so pre-revenue opportunities are harder to present.
