Serious And Honest Treatment Of A Start Up

    Fund: Carmel Ventures

    Posted by Anonymous on 2007-03-27

    PUBLIC:

Carmel staff know to communicate efficiently and directly with start-up companies, stating at first their initial impression. Afterwards their first due diligence phase is short. We got soon a negative reply followed by a reason (their own one) - which allowed us to concentrate in other alternatives.

An Investment Company That Thinks It'S A Vc

    Fund: Carmel Ventures

    Posted by chompyZ on 2007-03-24

    PUBLIC:

Probably the BEST investment company in Israel. Unfortunately this is a VC and not an investment company. They try be a VC and that is where they fail. Their success stories and capabilities are tailored for medium-large-cap companies doing turnarounds and management buyouts. That is why they succeeded so much with ECI Telecom and Technomatics, but failed with all the early stage start-ups. They just don't get it. If you are a lion - stick to meat. Don't become a vegetarian. In any way, managerially speaking this is probably the best VC in town. Too bad start-ups don't need anyone to help them build their "corporate governance", construct their sales cycle and methodology, etc...
