New Partner

Fund: Access Venture Partners

Posted by Bob_DTC on 2010-07-08

PUBLIC:

Access just brought on Kirk Holland from Boulder-based Vista Ventures. Always curious when VCs change funds, but Kirk is a straight shooter. I have pitched both firms in the past, and this really lends credibility to Access VP.

Known These Guys for Years

Fund: Access Venture Partners

Posted by sjoanis on 2010-06-25

PUBLIC:

I have known the whole crew for 10 years. Wallace was even our lawyer before he became a VC. I can tell you that they are as fair as they come, but they are also in the biz to make money. Frank III will run you ragged on diligence and on your BOD, but will make you better. A little stingy on comp committee, so just stick these guys on audit committee and you'll be OK. They led our A round, and now we are raising our C, so...so far so good.

Good Pitch

Fund: Access Venture Partners

Posted by dhgoodman on 2008-07-04

PUBLIC:

Jay was attentive and courteous. He listened to the pitch and was enthusiastic. We are not the usual ad-driven online play. Our demographic (older, female), partners (CPGs) and model (value added services) are outside the scope of most of the "institutional" players in Austin. Jay got the model and the opportunity.

PUBLIC:

Has anyone had any experience pitching and being funded by Access Venture Partners and what was your experience" We are looking at pitching them, but would like to know what kind of experience others have had with them first. Can you be specific by partner also and whether or not a technology or web based business"

Openly Hostile to Entrepreneurs During Pitch

Fund: Access Venture Partners

Posted by synthetichem on 2007-12-04

PUBLIC:

We pitched Access in Austin a few years back, and found Bob Rees to be quite nice/helpful/competent, but he is no longer with the fund.
