Great Partners, Solid Outcome

Having JK&B as investors in my last company has been a very positive experience. The team was solid all around, Marc & Tasha showed tremendous thoughtfulness and engagement over the years, while Tom Neustaetter was a rock star for us.
Tom is laid back in the right ways, and a tough guy when required. He provided quality counsel during difficult decisions, and remained a constant and vocal supporter of the vision and management team.
They believe in entrepreneurs, and once in the game, will support the goals of the team and took an active role when asked. They were always partners in the business, and took their role seriously.

Comments below shed light on other data. Partners are very variable and the funds reputation is declining. They do not offer much value add in connectedness or operating support, and the funding depth isn't what it used to be.
Some partners are not highly regarded in the industry (e.g. Neustaetter).
Overall, not a choice for lead or active investor, but possibly a reliable source of syndicate funding.

For highly technical plays, the team at JK&B is second to none in terms of comprehension and diligence. They take their role quite seriously, invest time in your process, and are participatory post-funding. Depending on the mood of head cheese David Kronfeld, JK&B may or may not be a good choice of partner.

These guys seem more interested in foreign investments and investing in tech widgets, but they have the inside smarts from running telecom networks for Ameritech, etc. to see big trends. Like Bob and Al a lot--they can be trusted.

After a relatively painless funding process, there was little to no guidance or involvement provided for an inexperienced management team. We were left feeling that they were just waiting for control round to wipe slate clean.
