FIRM DESCRIPTION: In our first round of funding, the DCF will invest in ten start-ups. The selected companies will be invited to Bucharest, Romania for a three month boot camp where they will meet their tech partners and start working on their prototype. The objective of the Boot Camp is to create under one-roof a community of local tech experts, programmers and developers with well thought out start-up projects and to help bring their ideas to live and turn them into profitable entities. Our Fund has also pulled together a world-class board of international experts ranging from tech professionals, academics, entrepreneurs and marketers. The board will offer counsel and guidance to the ten selected startups across marketing, product design, development and infrastructure, business strategy and funding. Applications start on May 25th and will close on July 15th. The ten startups will be selected by Aug 1st and the boot camp in Romania will begin on the 27th of August. We will provide two technical members proficient in LAMP, Python and Django, and/or Ruby on Rails to act as CTOs, as well as backing with an advisory board from industries ranging from entertainment and marketing to education, finance, and operations management. At the end of the three-month incubation cycle, we will select the most promising companies and distribute $500k of capital amongst them. The incubation cycle will also include opportunities to pitch to top-flight venture capital companies outside of the Fund.
