It was a pleasure to have met Scott Frederick. I was first introduced to Scott at a founders retreat in Park City Utah a few years ago. A few months ago, Scott invited me to pitch to his entire group. Unlike other VC firms where you get to meet with only one general partner and one associate, Scott gave me 2 hours of time with his entire partnership which I felt honored to be apart of.
During the pitch, the partnership asked some very critical questions to our business and many were very constructive. The feedback enabled us to better enhance our presentation and more importantly, our business idea.
It was one of the best VC audience I have been apart of.
I look forward to working with Valhalla and Scott in the near future.

Nice but Less Than Perfect

Seemingly nice guys, but they asked for many meetings, then did not respond, despite promises that they would do so. I guess despite their vast experience they haven't quite learned a polite no is better than leaving someone hanging. I would prospect these guys as they are quite personable and successful, but would stay on top of them more and be more forceful -- especially if you have a timeline for a decision.
And be careful of Quixotic requests from any VC, of course.

even though they passed on us, I thought they were smart and straight up.

We pitched to Gene and Art and boy they were trying hard to fit us into some box. We were expecting too much from what we had heard on the street. But the two were pretty much.....

The young partners are good, especially Scott Frederick. But stay away from the old ones. And the old ones, like clueless Art Marks, hold ALL the power.
