My experience with Azure Capital has been extremely positive. Although I’ve met a range of guys there, I’ve mostly dealt with Paul Weinstein and Ray Carey who joined our series C and D rounds in 2004 and 2005. Probably the thing I like most about the Azure team is their analytical, reasoned approach to problem solving. I guess this must come from their background in investment banking at CSFB prior to forming Azure.
One area where they have been of particular help is in recruiting of C-level officers where they provide introductions and assessments, and frankly, help sell our story to candidates. The team also has a lot of domain specific knowledge in the telecommunications patch we work in. Through their network, which includes a large number of LPs from industry we’ve been able to get key introductions and also calibrate information.
Paul and Ray have really gone the distance – literally – for their investment in my company. We have half our Board meetings in Israel (where R&D is located) and they have not failed to make the long trip there. They are accessible, involved, and connected.
I’m very glad to have Azure Capital Partners on my team.
