Pitched Kent and Richard separately on a US based deal. Was told upfront that Pond's focus is primary EU given the goals of it's LPs and the bar is very high for N. American companies seeking funding from their firm. Kent is straight forward and asked reasonable questions. Met with Richard who said ( and I quote ), "We don't mess around. We'll give you an investment decision within a week or two". Of course that decision would be whether to move on to diligence or not.
From that point on radio silence. After a number of broken appointments to touch base was given the, "We'll invest if you can find someone to lead" via email six weeks later.
Hopefully blowing off scheduled calls isn't their standard mode of operation. Being generous I suspect they were trying to get something done internally and just couldn't. They may be a good fund, but Kent's bedside manner leaves something to be desired.
