Members have requested that TheFunded.com hold interesting events, and we are working to deliver. On Thursday, February 26th, TheFunded.com hosted 40 of the top-rated venture capitalists and 50 entrepreneurs to a VC-only Symposium and then a mixed Reception in Palo Alto. The event was deigned to celebrate the accomplishment of being voted into the top 1% of start-up investors.
The evening Reception had a ratio of nearly one top-rated investor to each entrepreneur in attendance, creating a very casual environment for the two groups to socialize and discuss future opportunities. TheFunded.com would like to thank J. Robert Scott for sponsoring both the Venture All Stars and the upcoming Boston event. Some of the investor All Stars and special guests at the Symposium included:
- Darius Sankey, Zone Ventures; Kenneth Wallace, Industry Ventures; David Quinlivan, Saints Capital; Gina Vakili, Canaan Partners; Brian Pokorny, Baseline; Rob Theis, Scale Venture Partners; Salil Deshpande, Bay Partners; Nicolas El Baze, Partech International; Sharon Wienbar, Scale Venture Partners; Kevin Efrusy, Accel Partners; Paul Santienlii, North Bridge; Andrew Fillat, Leapfrog Ventures; Bijan Salehizadeh, Highland Capital Partners; Curtis Feeny, Voyager Capital; Hodong Nam, Altos Ventures; Robert Pavey, Morgenthaler Ventures; Ken Howery, Founders Fund; Tim Connor, Sequel Venture Partners; George Zachary, Charles River Ventures; Richard Levandov, Avalon Ventures; David Min, Steamboat Ventures; Emily Melton, Draper Fisher Jurvetson; Howard Morgan, First Round Capital; Doug Pepper, InterWest Partners.
The success of the '2008 Venture All Stars' precedes the upcoming CEO gathering in the Boston-area on March 10th. A limited number of new tickets have just become available for the Boston event, so, Members, please claim your spot now. Details are in the Private section. It will definitely be worth traveling from various destinations on the East Coast to attend, especially if you can bundle in some Boston-area pitch meetings.125
