Fund: Vinci Capital

It has been a year now that we did Series A with Vinci. I wanted to be well past honeymoon to post.

So far so very good. My board configuration is one with Vinci, another large European VC, a neutral director, and two founders. The dynamics of the board is very good. So I can't comment on crisis situation. I am fortunate enough not to have had any so far.

I found Vinci very supportive. Finding the right balance between giving the messages straight while being supportive. Providing support while leaving large freedom and trusting to the CEO. Even though they do not have much experience in Medtech (they have a partner for the specifics of LS), their industrial approach is very healthy. They understand enough the real entrepreneurial/industrial life to make the difference between pseudo-issues and real issues. Last but ot least they have the sensitivity to respect the soft aspects and balance of a team.

So yes, worked for me very well. I think Vinci is above many VCs I have come across.
