We are facing challenges in hiring good engineering talent in the company. I have a VP Engineering and CTO plus couple of good developers already here. We are making offers to engineers from bigger companies like HP, Sun etc but they are getting base salaries of ~ $130K plus bonuses plus options etc. I do not want to go beyond $140K at best on base plus lot more in options to attract the best. Note we are NOT VC funded yet (Angels only, does that really matter") Any advice" Thanks in advance.
