Alex Did Too Much Lsd

When Alex Barchus, Ph.D, gets done telling you how he spent years in British Colombia dropping acid every day and planting trees, ask him how he got into venture capital. Prospect has trouble getting deals, and the ones they have gotten, they have totally screwed up. Alex led a later round of one of my deals, and about a year later decided that he was going to abuse his board authority and take control of the company. He got everything wrong, and what was a very promising company, went to zero within a couple of years of him taking over and kicking the CEO out. In fact, he put a total bafoon in as CEO, a guy he and another board member liked and had a more than friendly relationship with. I don't think Alex knows the difference between his earlier LSD trips, and real life.
